Judy Ledgerwood (b. 1959, Indiana) uses color as the primary agent to upend the habits of viewing. She received her MFA from the School at the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work is represented in public collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Milwaukee Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, among others. She currently serves as the Director of Graduate Studies in Northwestern’s Art Theory and Practice Department. 2013 exhibitions included "Love, Power, Color," at Rhona Hoffman Gallery and "Sweet Home-Reloaded" at Hausler Contemporary in Munich, Germany and Zurich, Switzerland. Current and upcoming projects include an exhibition at the Graham Foundation in Chicago, IL opening January 23, 2014 and "Chromatic Patterns for the Smart Museum," a site-specific wall installation in the reception hall of University of Chicago's Smart Museum, on view December 2013 to July 2015.
